Fijian Excitement Machines Ratu Filise have been confirmed as the latest team announced for the 2017 UON Central Coast Sevens.
Ratu Filise from the village of Namatakula rolled eventual champion the Australian National 7s team in pool play at the 2016 tournament and featured in one of the tournaments most instense match ups when it faced the New South Wales Waratahs 7s team.
A village team Ratu Filise attracted several of their famous supporters including Tevita Kuridrani and Lote Tuqiri.
Tournament Director Craig Morgan said “we are pleased to welcome back Ratu Filise, the team created great excitement in 2016 and featured in what were a some of the tournaments biggest matches. The 2016 tournament has left Filise with a strong hunger to go further in 2017 and it is exciting for the tournament to welcome Ratu Filise back to the Central Coast in October”.
The 2017 UON Central Coast Sevens will take place from 27th October kicking off with the under 17’s youth boys & girls tournament before the International Men’s and Women’s Tournament takes place over the weekend of 28th and 29th October.
