The Avoca Sharks women’s 7s team are circling for their second bite at the UON Central Coast Sevens Kinesio Cup this October after making their debut in 2016. The local Central Coast Club featured a strong side in last years event with several representative level players representing the Avica Beach club and it is anticipated that the Sharks will again field a team able to take on some of the strongest teams in the world.
The Sharks will be looking to put a local flavour on the tournament by making a big statement on-field. The Avoca Beach Rugby Club are one of the most successful clubs on the Central Coast with a proud tradition of success.
Craig Morgan Central Coast Sevens Tournament Director said “we welcome the return of the Sharks, we are excited to see the team announced as we anticipate a strong side, looking to not only upset higher ranked teams but show they can hold their own in the sevens arena. We applaude the club for their commitment to womens sevens in the local area, which we hope is a further catalyst for the further development of formalised sevens programs on the Central Coast for both women and men”.
